How I Style

 

Last month I was approached by lovely fashion journalist/columnist Tui Benjamin (@TuiBanjaminBT) about getting involved with her Style column. I've never done this type of thing before and felt the time was right to take the jump and just go for it!

So here I am, the only great difference is that I would no doubt shove a pair of tights on with this outfit as the weather has definitely dropped in temperature since these snaps were taken. The write up about my style featured in the Bolton News September 7th.

Dollhouse Vacancy

Seeing how customers style their bags with their every day outfits is a high light of designing. I love seeing what colours are paired with the bright digital prints. Street Style Planning

With London Fashion Week looming thoughts turn to outfit planning. I go to the event because I love taking street style pics, I've found it's the best kind of consumer research out there. I was luckily eased in to this type of photography gently whilst at 'The Benches' in the Somerset house courtyard with Pearl Westwood.

Rianna Phillips AW13 - The Lookbook

So here it is, the AW13 lookbook. One of the most exciting collections I have ever put together. The range follows the ever continuing theme Organic:Synthetic. Imagery ranges from extremely natural crystal formations to man made metals literally photographed in tool boxes.

Travel seems to hold massive inspiration for this collection.The main source being a recent trip to Australia. Trapped within layers of prints are jelly fish found on the shore at 'The Pass', Agate photographed at 'Crystal Castle', and geometrical patterns captured from the passenger seat as we drove down Warrego highway. A turning point in this project was the experience had at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. The clash of the sky scarpers against the ocean was a view never to forget, beautifully illustrating Organic:Synthetic.
