Press Release
The serial Mercedes-Benz SLR is already one of the most impressive cars on our roads – but compared to the HAMANN VOLCANO it still looks rather harmless. Once again, HAMANN-Motorsport proves its cutting edge when it comes to refining superb sports cars. From a lift-reducing body design to a powerful performance enhancement to a lavishly styled interior, HAMANN focuses on all components of this luxury car and makes the automobile dreams of its exclusive clientele come true.

The total makeover of the Laupheim-based refiner is made of extremely light full carbon and consists of front- and rear wing extensions and also new side skirt attachments and sheathings. The front view of the Volcano is optically perfected with a newly designed bonnet which enhances the overall impression by its integrated hood scoop. But also for the rear, the refining technicians implemented new ideas giving the SLR appearance its finishing touch. Under the boot lid cover, HAMANN placed a strong diffuser which improves the car’s output in combination with the large rear wing. At the front axle, a newly developed front spoiler renders the necessary contact pressure. If desired, an especially developed overall paint for the VOLCANO in either aluminum/chrome or white/matt completes the striking appearance of this bolide.

The 21-inch rims named EDITION RACE with tires measuring 255/30ZR21 at the front and 345/25ZR21 at the back render an optimal road grip. The design of the extraordinary light forged wheel thereby combines vitality and elegance and also perfectly fills out the wheel houses.

The HAMANN makeover is not only sportive, but also has a lot to offer under the bonnet. The HAMANN motor technicians get the most out of the Mercedes Benz V8-aggregate (5.4 liters, 626 hp, 780 Nm): 700 hp / 515 kW and a maximum torque of 830 Nm at 3,300 crankshaft revolutions per minute. The therefore necessary modifications include a newly programmed control unit, especially developed high performance exhaust manifolds and an amended belt pulley combination for the serial compressors.

In order to facilitate the increased motor performance, HAMANN adds a second water pump and adjusts the gearbox electronics. Invigorated in this way and with the adequate sound from the six end pipes of the sport exhaust system, the VULCANO accelerates from naught to a hundred in only 3.6 seconds. With a maximum speed of 348 km/h, the serial model.

The HAMANN product even beats the factory-provided performance-enhanced special series SLR 722 by impressive 11 km/h.

A skillfully refined interior is waiting for the VOLCANO-pilot and also the exterior does not rank behind. The overall makeover contains pedals and foot rests in aluminum as well as noble door sill protectors and headrests with embossed embroidered HAMANN-Logos. They can also be found on the exclusive floor mats.

The overall makeover can be enhanced with a HAMANN interior set containing custom-made carbon parts for the dashboard and center console. If desired, also the roof interior, all pillars, the cockpit including the steering wheel and the sun visors can hereby be adjusted in terms of color. Therefore, HAMANN solely uses the high-quality material Alcantara.

Subtle aggressiveness.

I've always been a fan of a slightly understated, factory look; one that often has people asking me, "did the car come with that?"

I can't say why exactly, but that's what I dig. I'm a perfectionist, and I like when modifications integrate so seamlessly that you're not sure if it's a modification after all, or if its original equipment. Its not going to win many points at car shows (or NASIOC contests, ahem), but the way this car is put together is a reflection of myself and my personality, and I’m very happy with it. What you see here is a real car that gets driven... hard.

I've owned my WRX since Dec. 2002 (any other cars in the contest with over 75k miles on them?) and everything I know about cars has been learned on this car. I have always done all of my own work on the car, which is something I'm very proud of.. I started by learning how to change my oil and install a manual boost controller, and as you'll read, things have progressed quite a bit over the years.

My WRX has gone through many transformations, each improving on the last. As time passes I learn more, and I constantly raise the bar for myself. The state of my WRX as it sits is a prime example of where my abilities and personal expectations lie currently.

As you will notice, it's a [beautiful] bugeye. But it has Brembos all around? And a crinkle red intake manifold? Hmmm… that's a little different, whats going on here?

Things really got stepped up this past summer, when I spent two very long, amazing, frustrating, memorable, terrible, incredible weeks performing a complete 2007 STi transplant with the help of two of my very talented friends. The swap was completed from head to toe including engine, wiring, ECU, transmission, drivetrain, and more. We combined all of our knowledge and abilities together to essentially rebuild the car from the bare shell, and it turned out great. The engine turned over without hesitation or CEL on the first try, and we were off… I’ve since tried to maximize the potential of the engine including a polished and ceramic coated 3”/8cm FP Green turbo, APS FMIC, Perrin headers, EWG, Aquamist meth/water injection, and more…

Well rounded performance is the name of the game for me, and its what I've aimed to accomplish here. My priorities involve going fast--in the twisties and in a straight line--and I would never compromise my ability to drive the piss out of my car and enjoy it to the fullest on a regular basis, even if it means missing out on some mad JDM show points.

This car has seen ice racing, road racing, and auto-x. Its gotten me up to the mountains a hundred times and across the country a few. I'm already planning a track day in the spring and hope to see what she can do on the drag strip as well. What can I say, I love driving my car.

Ford Mustang generation

The birth of the Ford Mustang also saw the birth of the phrase "pony car", which is a term used to describe an American car that is sporty and affordable explained. Most horses are represented by, their small sizes cheap, compact and more powerful engine.

In the late 1950s, Ford saw sales decline in two-seat Thunderbird and in 1958 introduced, a new version of a larger 4-seat introduced in 1958 was very successful.

The rivalry between Ford and Chevrolet are always strong with the two big companies try to appeal to the same market. This led to the introduction of Chevrlet Corvair in 1960 which is the catalyst that forced the successor to the Ford Thunderbird, called Futura and Futura Sprint to create. Competition leads to other manufacturers such as Ford with the introduction of the Dodge Dart GT Plymouth Valient seal and create a song and it was not long before the Oldsmobile, Buick and Pontiac joined the competition.

All car commercial success, but a number of top auto executives, including Lee Iacocca Ford believes there is a larger market that they could catch. They saw a niche market to buy a car that more young with disposable income looking for an affordable car to buy with a more sporty image.

This led to the creation of the Ford Mustang in 1964 which proved a huge success. Ford initially expected sales of just wear-resistant 100, 000, but the orders came to 22,000 in the first day alone. At the end of the year it had achieved sales of up to 618,812 units.

Ford Mustang is a car that all other manufacturers want to mimic the new term "pony car" was adopted to lead. The term was first used by Dennis Shattuck, the editor of Car Life magazine around that time and created a sound based on the Ford Mustang ride.

Ford Mustang is one of the oldest running Ford took with the series-F and Falcon, which is still in production in Australia. Over the years there were five generations of the 1970 Mustang to see light derived from the original Mustang design early 1964 urging fans to force Ford to return to its 1960 roots.

First Generation

The first generation of Mustang has been made under the strict supervision of Lee Iacocca and Ford's chief engineer Donald N. Frey and take 18 months. The original prototype saw a car with a mid-mounted V4 engine and only 2 seats but this was abandoned for the design of 2 4-seater in February due to low sales of the Ford Thunderbird. February 2 design is believed to have been selected because of the success of cars like the Jaguar E-Type.

Design of the new agency created by Joe Oros that the design win in a match that produced by Iacocca.

"I told the team that the car I want to attract women, but I want to desire men, I want the front end such as Ferrari, motif centered on the front of heavy Something that looks like a Maserati, -. but, please, not a trident and I want to intake air on the side to cool the rear brakes, I say sporty as possible and it seems related to the European design "-.. - Oros

In order to maintain a minimum construction cost of a car based on parts of the car is production, such as Ford Falcon and Ford Fairline.

Second Generation

The second generation of the Mustang driven by the energy crisis in 1973 that cars were a big thirst for gasoline is not preferred because of rising fuel costs.

New, smaller Mustang II was released in 1973 and Ford is aiming to compete with small Japanese imports like the Toyota Celica. However, the last car was much heavier than their beginning to hurt performance.

Third Generation

In 1979 the third generation of the Mustang was introduced, highly dependent on the Japanese market for design. The car was designed more to accommodate four passengers, baggage volumes improved and extended the engine room for easy maintenance.

Fourth Generation

In 1994 the third generation Mustang suffered major Restyling for the signal from the original 1964 design for the first time since the 1973 version of the hatchback is no longer available.

The original engine was 3.8 OHV V6 rated 145 horsepower, but over the years, this is an upgrade to a 4.6L V8 producing 225 hp big in 1998.

See from Tire - Jaguar XKR-S 2009
The Jaguar XKR-S coupe is the fastest production XK to date. Powered by Jaguar's acclaimed 4.2litre V8 supercharged engine, it has been developed for the true Jaguar enthusiast. It is faster and more agile than the XKR, taking the Jaguar sports car experience to a new level, whilst retaining the refined, dynamic excellence and crafted luxury that is unique to Jaguar.

Sharing the XKR's highly advanced lightweight aluminium body architecture, the high performance of the Jaguar XKR-S is made totally accessible by the enormous reserves of the 4.2-litre all aluminium four-cam supercharged V8's 420bhp (SAE) and 560Nm of torque.

With recalibrated engine management, the Jaguar XKR-S reaches an electronically limited top speed of 174mph (280kph) - 19mph (30kph) faster than the XKR. This additional performance is made accessible by improved aerodynamics (reduced drag and lift) and unique suspension set-up.

Sharing the XKR's class-leading six-speed sequential automatic transmission, the Jaguar XKR-S has exceptional refinement and the option of ultra-fast manual shifts controlled by steering wheel-mounted paddle shifts - with shift times measured in milliseconds to make this one of the fastest shifting transmissions in the world.

To match its increased performance, the Jaguar XKR-S adopts the most powerful brakes on any Jaguar production model, plus extensive changes to its suspension and steering to provide further enhanced ride and handling characteristics without compromising comfort.

The high performance braking system for the Jaguar XKR-S was developed by Jaguar's Special Vehicles team in partnership with British competition brake specialist Alcon, which supplies the stopping power for some of the fastest cars in the world, on both road and track. The brakes were perfected over thousands of miles of testing on some of Europe's most demanding roads, and by Jaguar's engineering team at the Nurburgring in Germany. The Jaguar XKR-S Alcon R Performance braking system features 400mm diameter discs on the front and 350mm discs at the rear. Each disc is radially ventilated for maximum cooling and to resist fade even under the hardest use, and will perfectly match the Jaguar XKR-S's increased top speed. The friction surfaces of each disc carry a series of crescent-shaped grooves that help clear water from the discs during wet weather and help to keep the brake pads clean at all times. The Alcon R performance brake package uses lightweight monobloc six-piston callipers at the front and four-piston callipers at the rear - each calliper finished in a distinctive red and carrying the R logo.

The Jaguar XKR-S coupe's dynamic balance focuses on achieving an even more sporting character while retaining the XKR's supple ride comfort. Its blend of control and refinement begins with the extremely stiff all-aluminium body structure, and a re-tuning of the XKR's all-wishbone suspension. The Jaguar XKR-S features new springs, new anti-roll bars and unique dampers. All the major suspension parameters are recalibrated, and the Jaguar XKR-S uses Jaguar's proven Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) with unique tuning. It also uses a faster ratio steering rack, for quicker reactions and optimum feel.

The limited edition coupé in Ultimate Black is identified by the unique Jaguar XKR-S badge on the rear of the car. The exterior of the Jaguar XKR-S has been subtly enhanced to make it recognisably different without being overstated. Another significant element in the revised handling package is that the ride height of the Jaguar XKR-S has been reduced by 10mm compared with that of the XKR, and the Jaguar XKR-S sits on unique, lightweight 20-inch Vortex forged alloy wheels with bespoke tyres. That naturally makes the Jaguar XKR-S look lower and even more sporting, but it has a number of other distinguishing details. It features a new front aerodynamic splitter, side sill extensions, revised rear spoiler and rear diffuser panel, with contrasting finishes to details such as the front mesh grille, power vents, sills and rear diffuser panel.

The Jaguar XKR-S has an Active Exhaust System, which is specifically tuned to ensure quiet, refined high-speed cruising while producing a much more hard-edged and sporting V8 sound under hard acceleration - not over loud, but full of performance character.

While the mechanical specification and the exterior revisions are driven largely by performance and dynamic enhancement, the interior changes reflect Jaguar's vision of the Jaguar XKR-S as an uncompromisingly luxurious sports car.

The full soft grain leather trim is finished in Charcoal with Ivory twin-needle contrast stitching, with leather wrapping the seats, instrument panel top, centre console, inner door panels and rear side panels. This is complemented by Piano Black veneer, Charcoal Alston luxury headlining, plus a revised instrument cluster - calibrated to accommodate the higher top speed - with XKR-S branding. The contrast-stitched leather trimmed steering wheel, alloy and leather gear selector with alloy surround, bright aluminium pedals, and XKR-S branded head-restraints, tread-plates and carpet mats further set the tone for this very special interior.

Taking Jaguar's 525W Premium Audio system with Pro Logic II surround sound as a starting point, renowned premium British loudspeaker manufacturer Bowers & Wilkins has tuned a signature speaker system specifically for the cabin of the Jaguar XKR-S. High output, low distortion Kevlar mid-range speakers and specially designed aluminium-dome tweeters deliver superb mid-range and extended high-frequency responses.

On sale in summer 2008 and limited to just 200 cars in European markets only, the Jaguar XKR-S is an even more driver-focused sports grand tourer than the XKR.
